Vulcans bow to
Wildcats in 16 innings

Ernie Durazo laced a two-run triple in the 16th inning to give Arizona a 6-4 baseball victory over Hawaii-Hilo yesterday at Kailua-Kona.

Shortstop Keoni DeRenne, a former Iolani star, had four hits for the Wildcats.

Because of the length of the game and lack of lights, the teams agreed to call off the nightcap of the scheduled doubleheader.

HEALTH AND FITNESS EXPO: A strong man contest, a karate tournament and a gymnastics competition are among the special events at the Great Aloha Run Health and Fitness Expo Feb. 12-14 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.

The Gym's Strongest Man Contest will be held from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 12 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 13. The IKF Karate Tournament will take place from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Feb. 13. The Rainbow Gymnastics Competition is set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 14.

Expo hours are 4-10 p.m. Feb. 12, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Feb. 13 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 14.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors and children 7-12 years old. Children under 7 will be admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult and Great Aloha Run/Walk participants will be admitted free.

HAWAII FENCERS READY: Hawaii fencing champions Janice Kato (women's epee), Colin Chock (men's foil) and Robert Becker (men's epee) will compete in the Hawaii Open Feb. 6-7 at the Aloha Tower Marketplace Pier 10 Ferry Terminal.

BENEFIT GOLF FOR SOCCER CLUB: A benefit golf tournament to support the '82 Leahi Soccer Club's upcoming trip to the mainland will be played on Thursday, March 18 at the Ala Wai course.

There will be a 12:15 shotgun start of the three-person scramble event. Maximum handicaps are 24 for men and 40 for women.

Entry fees are $300 for a three-person team, $100 per person and $600 for a tee sponsor (including one team). The entry deadline is Feb. 20.
