Bullet Top players: Chris Herren, 6-3 senior point guard (14.7 points per game, 7.1 assists per game), Courtney Alexander, 6-5 junior guard (20.8 ppg), Terrance Roberson, 6-7 senior forward (11.4 ppg, 5.7 rebounds per game), Melvin Ely, 6-9 sophomore center (12.4 ppg, 7.3 rpg).

Bullet Interesting facts: Tarkanian is 703-164 lifetime in Division I ... In 1961, the year Tarkanian started coaching, the Berlin Wall was built and Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's home run record ... The Bulldogs lead the series with Hawaii, 10-4. They are 4-1 against the Rainbows in Fresno. Most memorable was Fresno State's 85-83 victory over Hawaii in last year's NIT quarterfinals at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Bullet Keys to the game: Marquette Alexander continues to lead the Rainbows on the court, now averaging 13 ppg (16.8 ppg in conference games) ... Hawaii is averaging 17.9 turnovers per game to Fresno State's 14.2 ... The Rainbows average 6.3 steals to the Bulldogs' 7.7 ... All-WAC Herren, who missed five games this season, returned to the starting lineup for Fresno State on Jan. 23 in a 79-75 win against BYU.

San Jose State has decided not to charge admission for its final five home games, including a rematch with UH on Feb. 25 ... The Spartans score 49 points a game and surrender 68.
