ALEXANDER WINS BOUT: At St. Louis, Honolulu's Eric Alexander knocked out NABO welterweight champion Doug Gray of Yonkers, N.Y., in the second round of a nontitle fight last night.
Alexander, out of Kakaako Boxing Club, is the Hawaii state welterweight and junior middleweight champion. A rematch with Gray for the belt is tentatively scheduled for March.

SPIKE DYKES AT FOOTBALL CLINIC: Texas Tech football coach Spike Dykes has replaced former Oregon State coach Mike Riley, now coaching the San Diego Chargers, in the Nike Hawaii Football Clinic, which will take place Feb. 26-28 at the Turtle Bay Hilton Hotel.
Other head coaches scheduled to conduct the clinic include Hawaii's June Jones and USC's Paul Hackett.
