bullet Season: 2-14 (0-4 WAC).

bullet Top players: Matt Watts, 6-3 senior guard, 14.6 points per game ... Myron Epps, a 6-6 freshman forward, 10.5 ppg, 5.3 rebounds per game.

bullet Interesting facts: Correa is from Brazil and spent only his senior season of high school at an American school as a foreign exchange student ... Starting freshman guard David Abramowitz is from Tijuana, Mexico, but lettered four years at San Diego High ... The 49-year-old Trenkle was 329-34 as head coach of the College of Southern Idaho, and his team won the national junior college title in 1987 ... Hawaii leads the series, 26-16. In Honolulu, the Rainbows are 15-5 against the Aztecs ... The last time Hawaii and San Diego State met was Feb. 4, 1998 at Stan Sheriff Center, and the Aztecs won, 76-67.

WAHINE PLAYBOOK

vs. San Diego State Aztecs

bullet Coach: Barb Smith (2nd season, 14-24).

bullet Season: 4-12 (1-3 WAC).

bullet Top players: Sophia Sledge, 5-8 junior point guard, 11.1 points per game; Kelly Rushford, 5-10 freshman guard, 7.8 ppg; Anita Bundage, 5-11 sophomore forward, 7.7 ppg, 7.4 rebounds per game.

bullet Interesting facts: The teams have played four common WAC opponents and SDSU has an edge over UH in every statistical category in those games except free throw percentage ... "They score more and give up less than we did against those opponents," said Goo ... 6-foot-2 center/forward Mary Apiafi picked SDSU over UH when she transfered from Pasadena City College last fall ... SDSU leads the series, 12-10 ... The Wahine are scheduled to return home tomorrow on United flight 53 at 12:36 p.m.

bullet Keys to the game: The Wahine should match up better height wise against the Aztecs than they did last week against BYU and Utah ... Hawaii has learned it can't fall behind early on the road and expect to play catch up. UH must avoid that pitfall in Cox Arena tonight if it hopes to end a three-game losing streak ... SDSU had just one starter back (Sledge) and struggled early, but has steadily played better despite losing four of its last five games ... SDSU uses a scrappy man-to-man defense 85 percent of the time ... "Our players need to know when we play on the road we can't be as good as that team, we have to be 15 points better," said Goo.

bullet Tip-off: 5 p.m.; in San Diego.

bullet On the air: Live on KCCN (1420-AM).
