The first major snowfall of the season came to Hawaii yesterday, and Serette
Kaminski, left, and Maile Cannon took a ride on a boogie
board on the slopes of Mauna Kea, which had drifts up to a foot deep.
Meanwhile, Shane Kunimitsu of Hilo played with crabs he and his father
caught before heading up the mountain. Mauna Kea's sister peak, Mauna Loa,
had a light dusting of snow.
