Na Leo video
celebrates heart
of Christmas

Christmas is Giving Na Leo Pilimehana (KGMB), video

Na Leo Pilimehana -- Nalani Choy, Lehua Kalima and Angela Morales -- are shown living their Christian beliefs in this KGMB "Island Music, Island Hearts" TV special, originally broadcast in 1996 and now available for purchase on video.

An early segment shows the trio performing informally on a beach while an assortment of family members hang out in the proximity. Another finds the trio in a domestic setting singing with the keiki. A third shows them alone in church. Most of the other segments catch them on the road performing at the Punana Leo O Kawaiaha'o Hawaiian School, Kapiolani Hospital and the Lunalilo Home.

As with Na Leo's beautiful new Christmas album, "Christmas Gift," the Na Leo video is a testament to the spiritual core of the holiday celebration. Nalani Choy's "What Would Christmas Be?" explains that Christmas is not about getting lots of stuff or having a huge tree. It isn't about selling furbys for $80 each either.

For Na Leo, Christmas is ultimately about the birth of Jesus Christ. Kalima's "What Love" reiterates that message. Both of these songs are notable as musical performances as well as being testaments of Christian faith.

"Flying With Angels" and "Friends" add two of Na Leo's all-time hits to the collection. Both songs add to the overall religious theme.

KGMB has added a "bonus track" performance of "A Christmas Wish" that wasn't seen in the 1996 broadcast. The song is also on Na Leo's new album but in a different arrangement.
