Gladys Haruki Abe, 86, of Honolulu, died Nov. 22 at Kuakini Medical Center. She was born at Makaweli, Kauai. She is survived by companion Bob Okazaki; son Stanley Abe; daughter Joyce Murakami, and sisters Alice Yoshimura, Mitsue Mizuo, Masayo Watamura, Jean Mikasa, Hazel Park and Betty Russell. Chester Dennis Au Sr., 58, of Kailua, an owner of C & N Auto Tech, died Nov. 20 at Castle Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by companion Sandra Kaleohano; son Chester Jr.; daughter Mei Li Jack; sisters Barbara Lee and Jerene Kwapy, and four grandchildren. George S. Bras 89, of Kokomo, died Nov. 26 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Kaupakalua, Maui. He is survived by wife Doris; son James; daughters Shirley Onishi, Merlin Chambers and Carolyn Ho; sister Philomena Franco, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Christine Vivian Espina, 64, of Ewa Beach died Nov. 24 at St. Francis Medical Center West. She was born in Molokai. She is survived by husband Pete; sons Dennis, Dale, Duane, Dana and Darren; daughters Donna Cuizon and Darcy Tavares; father Andres Estacion; brothers Edward Pascua, Robert and Melvin Estacion, and Milton, Rudy, Alex and Tim Pacrem; sisters Elaine Morrison and Sylvia Pabalan, 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Michael Vanatta Manuhaokalani Gay 84, of Kailua, died Nov. 26 at St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Mokuleia, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Florence; sons Paul, Robert and Walter; daughters Anna “Puanani” Lindsey and Lisa; brother Llewellyn; sister Mary Kawaiponi Folk, and nine grandchildren. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a. Robert Kaneo Heya 71, of Kaneohe, died Nov. 23 at Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He was retired from Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. He is survived by wife Nobuko; son Steve; daughter Miki (Hazel); brothers Harry and Clarence, and sisters Betsy Kawaguchi, Mabel and Lorraine Heya, Charlotte Arakaki, Helen Tawata and Florence Hori. Laura “Tutu” Asejo Kauwe, 72, of Honolulu, a retired loan officer with the Bank of Hawaii, died Nov. 12 at Queen's Medical Center. She was born in Pahala on the Big Island. She is survived by son Patten George “Boy” Jr.; daughter Sharynn Moniz; brother Stanley “Sonny” Asejo Sr.; sisters Edna Aguil, Gladys Lunasco, Reina Leong and Thelma Yanagida, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Harry Kanalulu Kuikahi, 78, of Honolulu, a retired captain of the Honolulu Fire Department, died Nov. 24 at Kaiser Hospital. He was born in South Hilo. He taught Hawaiian fish net making and weaving at Kamehameha Schools' Continuing Education Program after he retired from the fire department. He was also vice president of Ka Leo o na Kupuna, a senior resource group, and lectured on canoe launching, fishing, language, taro farming, growing up in Waipio Valley and old-fashioned conservation. He is survived by wife Mayta; sons Wayne, Gaylord, Harry, Everett, Kenanilehua, Kawailani and Kainoakanalulukaupilialoha; daughters Harrilyn Baltero and Abigail Hassard; sisters Mary Tarayao and Miulan Keahilihau, 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Robert R. “Bob” Moody, 47, of Kihei, Maui, a doctor, died Nov. 24 in Kaanapali, Hawaii. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is survived by wife Caroline; son Alex; mother Alica; father Marvin; sister Marie Fragodt, and brother Mark. Service: 7 a.m. Saturday at Kalama Park-Malama Ula Canoe Club Site. Riichi Okamoto, 91, of Honolulu, died Nov. 18 at Kuakini Geriatric Inc. He was born in Hiroshima, Japan. He was a retired mason. He is survived by sister Hideno Nagahisa and niece Akiko Oka. Services were private.

Dorothy Mary Ann Roy, 66, of Mountain View, Hawaii, died Nov. 26 in Kaneohe. She was born in Pauoa, Oahu. She was a member of the Mountain View Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by husband William Jr.; sons Robert and Rodney; daughters Geri Roy, Gwen Ulu and Zelei Abordo; brothers Solomon Kong and Hosea Castro; sister Wenonah Shoemaker, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dana Lynn Schutt, 41, of Kaneohe, a homemaker, died Nov. 24 in Kaneohe. She was born in Washington. She is survived by husband Steven; mother Barbara Garton; father Emory “Jack” Garton; brothers Kevin and Jack Garton, and godchild Carly Anderson. Service: 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Heeia Kea Pier. Mary M.M.K.H. Tina, 83, of Kona, Hawaii, also known as “Kuana M,” “Aunty M,” “Mama Tina” and “Tutu Wahine,” died Nov. 17 at home. She was a former coffee picker for Tom Onaka, Junichi and Mikie Harada, Komo and Kazuo Ota farms. She was born in Kona. She is survived by daughters Mildred M. Tina Kaneshiro, Marilyn “Lyn” Tina Loando and Anngie K. Tina Nakasone; sons Joseph I. and Philip K.A.; sisters Rose H. Fukumitsu and Josephine H. Alapai; brother David L. Hulihee; hanai sons Arthur M. Mahi, Gilbert K. and Blaise K. Loando, Darin K. Vincent and Victor V. Hulihee; hanai daughters Irene N.S. Midel and Victoria S.M. and Vivian T.I. John Urner, 77, of Honolulu, a long-time Realtor, died Nov. 22. He was born in Palo Alto, Calif. He was a Waimanalo farmer and a World War II B-26 bomber pilot, and later flew for Hawaiian Airlines. He was in real estate for four decades in Hawaii, owning several realty companies. In 1957, he founded the Hawaii Water Sports Co., which he managed for 12 years. Urner served on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club and was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club. He is survived by wife Linda; daughters Susan Thornett, Sharon Pettus and Melissa Lee; sister Mary Campbell, and two grandchildren. Private burial will be today at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Margarita Longboy Valencia, 87, of Honolulu, died Nov. 18 at Queen's Medical Center. She was born in the Philippines.
