Harry Kanalulu Kuikahi, 78, of Honolulu, a retired captain of the Honolulu Fire Department, died Nov. 24 at Kaiser Hospital. He was born in South Hilo. He taught Hawaiian fish net making and weaving at Kamehameha Schools' Continuing Education Program after he retired from the fire department. He was also vice president of Ka Leo o na Kupuna, a senior resource group, and lectured on canoe launching, fishing, language, taro farming, growing up in Waipio Valley and old-fashioned conservation. John Urner, 77, of Honolulu, a long-time Realtor, died Nov. 22. He was born in Palo Alto, Calif. He was a Waimanalo farmer and a World War II B-26 bomber pilot, and later flew for Hawaiian Airlines. He was in real estate for four decades in Hawaii, owning several realty companies. In 1957, he founded the Hawaii Water Sports Co., which he managed for 12 years. Urner served on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club and was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club. He is survived by wife Linda; daughters Susan Thornett, Sharon Pettus and Melissa Lee; sister Mary Campbell, and two grandchildren. Private burial will be today at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
