Keiki fun at Pearlridge

Keiki Celebration Saturday at Pearlridge Center celebrates the positive activities of Hawaii's youth. The event, co-sponsored by the shopping center and an array of government and community organizations, features a healthy baby contest -- the Island Keiki Contest -- at 11 a.m.; Tamiya Mini car races with registration 9 a.m. to noon and the races themselves noon to 4 p.m.; and performances by Halau Hula Ilima at 2 p.m. and Note's Music & Dance at 6 p.m.

There will also be a display of keiki art and appearances by Sanrio costume characters throughout the day, plus a variety of games and activities for children.

Fit to win

Student in grades 6 through 12 can win a photo session from More Models, six-month membership to 24-Hour Fitness, a $100 gift certificate to Kramer's or Jeans Warehouse or other prizes by entering the "Get Fit, Stay Fit With VIVA" contest. Write a two-page essay on "The Importance of Leading a Healthy Lifestyle," compile a list of school athletics and health-related activities and submit them with a full-body color photo to: Meadow Gold Dairies, c/o Comm-Pac, 745 Fort St., PH 2, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813-3800 by Friday. Four movies begin their Oahu run Friday.

Antz: (PG) A sort of "Metropolis" meets "Microcosmos" with a commoner-princess, lovers-on-the-run romance. At its core is a Woody Allen-voiced lead character. The picture starts on an analyst's couch, as a meek worker ant complains about his upbringing as "the middle child in a family of 5 million" and kvetches about his feelings of insignificance in the ant colony, only to be told by the shrink, "You are insignificant."

Clay Pigeons: (R) Film about an auto mechanic named Clay (Joaquin Phoenix), whose best friend (Gregory Sporleder), devastated that Clay is having an affair with his wife, kills himself and makes it appear that Clay is the culprit.

A Night at the Roxbury: (PG-13) The two Bitaki brothers from "Saturday Night Live," guys who aren't too bright but think they're cool, go on the town.

What Dreams May Come: (PG-13) Robin Williams goes to heaven (literally) to bring back the woman he loves.
