Bullet Maria H.M. Kahalekulu, 84, of Waiehu, Maui, a retired matron for the state detention center, died Monday in Maui Memorial Hospital. She was also a moderator for Waihee Protestant Church. Born in Kaanapali, Maui, she is survived by sons Moses, Benjamin, Albert, Donald and Anthony; daughter Sarah Daugherty; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Bullet Moses Y. Kealamakia, 75, of Kamuela, Hawaii died Aug. 25 in North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in South Kona, Hawaii, he is survived by wife Eva; sons Myron L. Lindsey and Moses Y. Jr. and Mark Kealamakia; daughter Ardis Jensen; brothers William, Robert, Thomas and Dean; sisters Hattie Henderson and Helen Kealamakia; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bullet Solomon M. Kia Jr., 52, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, a switchman technician for GTE Hawaiian Tel, died Tuesday at home. Born in Hilo, he is survived by wife Miulan; sons Bernard Kia, Lionel Haili and Maui Bayne; daughters Bernadette Ebanculla, Beryl Kia and Chante and Renise Bayne; mother Clara; brother Norman; sisters Elvie Mason and Ethel Hoylman; and three grandchildren. Bullet Toyoko Kurasaki, 78, of Koloa, Kauai died Tuesday in Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born in Waimea, Kauai, she is survived by sons Brian and James, daughter Nora Lopez, sisters Masayo Nakamura and Satsuyo Yamada and four granddaughters. Bullet Luciano A. Lamug, 77, of Waipahu died Aug. 21. Born in Laoag City, the Philippines, he is survived by wife Natividad; sons Tranquilino, Elpidio, Ruperto and Bradley; daughters Filomena Valeros, Rosalina Icalia, Florencia Deuz, Leonida Lamug, Clarita Ancheta, Zenaida Ganti and Carina Aguilar; 39 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Bullet Roseline Manaku, 76, of Anahola, Kauai, a retired custodian at the University of Hawaii, died Sunday in Wilcox Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by sons Ronald Rodrigues and James, Cliford, Ray, Reggie, Dan and Llewllyne Manaku; daughters Rose Dupont and Cindy Cummings; sister Eleanor McArthy; 31 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Bullet Dr. Masao "Pete" Okumoto, 90, of Honolulu, a retired dentist, died Tuesday in Oahu Care Facility. Born in Hilo, he is survived by sons Peter Y. and Glenn M.; daughters Doreen K. McCrann and Mona M. Jarvis; brothers Yoshinobu "Pete" and Dr. Tatsuo "Pete;" sister Misue Ogawa; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Bullet Florence K. Sarae, 54, of Honolulu, a Consolidated Theatres employee, died Aug. 22 in Oahu Care Facility. Bullet Colin J. Sharp, of Lihue, a radio broadcaster, died Aug. 19 in Wilcox Hospital. He was also a program director for KUMU AM/FM in 1966. He was born in Norwood, England. Services at a later date.

Bullet Tamato Vanilala, 53, of Honolulu died Aug. 20 in Honolulu. Born in American Samoa, she is survived by husband Vaatausili; sons Laneselota, Tauese and Senetenari Tuua and Roman Vanilala; daughters Maima Menchaca, Rolita Sele, Julieta Fainuu, Oteila Salavea and Kionasina Jones; and 15 grandchildren.
