Earl V. Almquist, 72, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Kailua, a retired electronics engineer, died last Thursday at home. He was born in San Bruno, Calif. He is survived by daughters Mary L. McAuslin, Susan E. Harris and Elise F. Guerette; son John L., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mainland services. Gavino “Dong” Baculpo, 71, of Waimea, Hawaii, a retired Kohala Sugar Plantation worker, died Sunday in North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born in Kapehu, Hawaii.
