'KING OF BEACH' VOLLEYBALL: The second annual Riggers King of the Beach Round Robin volleyball tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday at Queen's Beach across from the zoo.
The action starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
Entry fee is $20, $5 of which will be reimbursed at the end of the tournament.
Among those expected to play are brothers Allen and Masui Allen, Troy Hotz, Naveh Milo, Jason Salmeri, Jon Andersen and Ryan and Milo Henneberg.

HAWAII GYMNASTS IN JR. NATIONALS: Tacia LaBatte and Erin Geary of the Hawaiian Island Twisters will be on the seven-girl Region 2A team in the United States Gymnastics Federation Junior Nationals tomorrow through Sunday at Seattle.
Elysse Wong of Kokokahi Gymnastics Team and Mandy Pasqual of Rainbow Gymnastics Academy will be on the Region 2B team.
Shannon Geary of the Hawaiian Island Twisters will compete on the Region 2A team in the Level 9 USGF Nationals May 15-17 in Austin, Texas. Twisters teammate Natasha Fagasa is a Region 2 alternate.
Region 2 is comprised of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Hawaii.
MAUI-BIG ISLAND GOLF SHOWDOWN: Sixteen-player teams from Maui and the Big Island will compete for the title "1998 Golf Capital of Hawaii" Saturday and Sunday at the Waikoloa Beach and Kings' courses.
'MIGHTY MO' TOURNAMENT: The Honolulu Council Navy League will hold a golf tournament May 15, at the Navy-Marine course, with all proceeds donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association, the organization bringing the storied battleship, "Mighty Mo," to its final home in Pearl Harbor.
Spots are available for teams or individual golfers in the morning round, which starts at 7 a.m. The afternoon round is filled.
Entry fee is $100 before May 13.

UH SAILORS TO NATIONALS: The University of Hawaii women's and coed sailing teams have qualified for national championship regattas later this month.
The Wahine will compete in the ICYRA Women's National Championships May 25-27 in New Orleans. The UH coed team, ranked 12th in the most recent Sailing World magazine poll, will be in the ICYRA Team Racing Championships May 28-30, also at New Orleans.
AIEA SEEKING COACHES: Aiea High School is in the process of hiring a girls' basketball coach and a boys' bowling coach.
