Convicted killer
is up for parole

What ever happened to Keith Brezee, convicted of killing a girl in Kailua about 12 years ago?

Keith Brezee is in Halawa prison serving his 20-year sentence for the murder and attempted rape of his Kailua High School classmate, Sandra Damas.

Damas was 15 when her body was found behind a hedge outside the library of Enchanted Lake Elementary School on Oct. 26, 1976.

Next month, Brezee, 38, will be up for parole considerations, said state parole officials. He was last paroled in March 1995.

While on parole then, Brezee was arrested and convicted for two misdemeanor offenses. He was arrested on March 15, 1996, for abuse of a household member, and on March 25, 1996, for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to state records.

Because of the two convictions and drugs found in his system while on parole, Brezee was sent back to prison in October 1996.

Brezee's last known address is Nakini Street in Waimanalo. He is considered a sex offender. Under law, convicted sex offenders must register their residence and other information with the state.

His 20-year sentence expires on Feb. 2, 2000.
