Donald Hess takes 31 years of Naval command and administration experience into a new job with the Battleship Missouri Memorial at Pearl Harbor. The ship comes to Pearl Harbor in late May, and will be open to the public in January 1999. Planning a visitor experience
"My job is to make certain that the Missouri visitor experience is all that it can be," Hess said.
He most recently was a business consultant on Oahu. He as also been executive assistant to the commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, executive assistant to the deputy chief of naval operations and chief of naval personnel, chief of staff for the U.S. Seventh Fleet Battle Forces, captain of a guided missile cruiser, and commanding officer of a destroyer.
Hess earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Iowa State University, and graduated from the Armed Forces Staff College.
