Elizabeth L. Brodowski,90, of Honolulu, a retired working leader from Tripler Hospital, died Monday in Kaiser Hospital. She was born in Hana, Maui. Howard K. Hirota,55, of Honolulu, a Marianist brother for 36 years, died Friday in Honolulu. He was also a teacher at St. Louis School, St. Anthony High School and Sacred Hearts Academy. Mitsu Horio,99, of Honolulu, a retired housekeeper, died Feb. 25 in Oahu Care Facility. She was born in Hiroshima, Japan. She is survived by daughter-in-law and primary care-giver Nobuye “Nobuyo”; daughter May Hamamoto, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Private services.

Mitsuo Kihara,85, of Hilo, a retired mason, died Saturday in the Life Care Center of Hilo. He was also a farmer. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by daughters Ellen Yamabe, Florence McKinney, Ruth Nishijima and Selina Brockmiller, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Private services.

Leonard A. Kupo,82, of Kahului died Feb. 25 in Kahului. He is survived by son Leonard Kapu Jr.; brothers Richard and Leigh; daughters Lani Valko, Marie Biga and Moani Machado; sister Betty Makia, and nine grandchildren. The Rev. Akira J. Kuroda,83, founder of the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society and former pastor of Honolulu Christian Church, died Nov. 20 in Los Angeles. He was also the first Nisei minister in the Oriental Missionary Society Holiness Conference. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by children David Kuroda, Keiko Hayashi, Tami Ouye and Andrea Marra; brother Satoru, and six grandchildren. Donations suggested to the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society for the Akira Kuroda Scholarship Fund.

Lai Sen Lee,68, of Honolulu died Feb. 19 in St. Francis Hospice. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services were held.

Rong Shun Li,66, of Aiea died Monday. He was born in China. He is survived by wife Rui Fei Wu; sons Zhen Chao Li and Sai Chiu Lee, and daughters Qi Qing and Qi Ping. Services: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Nuuanu Mortuary. Burial: Valley of the Temples.

Carol Ann E. Medeiros,57, of Honokua, Kona, Hawaii, a self-employed coffee and macadamia nut farmer, died Monday in Kona Community Hospital. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by husband Manuel H.; sons Kyle H., Korey F. and Kelly J.E.; daughter Karyl T. Dutton; parents Helen and Earl Leslie; sisters Helen Doria, Fay Lai and Pearl Hind; brothers Eugene B., Earl and Weston Leslie, and six grandchildren.
