Kekumano Mass next Saturday

Burial for Monsignor Charles Kekumano will be private.

It will follow a 12:30 p.m., Jan. 31 Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa at 712 N. School St. Eulogies will be given at noon prior to the Mass.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. at the church. Aloha attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Queen Liliuokalani Trust Children’s Center.


Kam Siu Chun, 75, of Honolulu will be remembered in services 2:30 p.m. Monday at Valley of the Temples. Call after 1:30 p.m. Additional information for an obituary published yesterday.

Richard Duncan, 72, of Kailua, owner of Alpha Color Photography, died Jan. 16 in Kaneohe. Born in Ohio, he is survived by daughters Leilani Duncan and Amy Suetomi-Ching, companion Janice Suetomi and brother James. Private services.

Gail L. Farrar, 66, of Kaneohe died Wednesday in Castle Hospital. Born in Illinois, he is survived by wife Virginia, son Douglas, daughters Martha Camara and Daphne Farrar, sisters Mildred Bond and Barbara Lashbrook and seven grandchildren. Prayer services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s By the Sea in Kahaluu.

George “Keoki” Flores, 72, of Wailuku, a retired police officer with the Maui Police Department, died Monday in Queen’s Hospital. Born in Wailuku, he is survived by wife Josephine L.; sons George Jr., David and Kaipo Flores and Jacob and Harold Paiva; daughters Mary J. Kahalelike, Theone Kanuha, Kanoe Paiva, Tiana F. Enfield, Keoki Flores and Juliette Bryant; brothers Victor, Alfred and David; sisters Sheila Reyes, Clara Fernandez and Sarah Akahi; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lusia Hahn, 69, of Waianae died Jan. 15 in St. Francis-West Hospital. Born in Western Samoa, she is survived by husband Fred; sons Elmer and Frank; daughter Theresa Fuga; brothers Filipo and Iosefo Savelio; sisters Susitina Nikolao, Iutita Agasiva and Ana Sasagi; and 12 grandchildren. Lorine E. “Becky” Kaaikaula, 82, of Jefferson City, Mo. and formerly of Honolulu died Sunday in Jefferson City. Diane Kim, 47, of Honolulu, a general manager for Ram Paging Hawaii, died Monday in Kaiser Hospital. Agnes K. “Dutchie” Rutherford, 89, of Honolulu, a retired cafeteria assistant at Aliiolani Elementary School, died Thursday1/ in Honolulu. Hiileiikapolilehua Ikeke Beltrame-Aila, infant, daughter of Lehualani Beltrame and Kalahanohano Aila, died Jan. 18 in Honolulu. She is also survived by grandparents Sandra and Lewis Aila and Eugene and Lorraine Beltrame; great-grandparents Bill and Audrey Trinidad; great-grandmothers Edith Noblisse and Kuulei Aila and great-great-grandmother Lucille Gomes. Ichiro “Ichi” Nakashima, 79, of Honolulu, died Wednesday at Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He was a retired budget analyst for the U.S. Army. He is survived by wife Itaru “Marian;” daughters Claire Ganeku and Faye; sister Yoneko Imamura, and two grandsons. Memorial service: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Nuuanu Mortuary. Ruby H. Sugimura, 56, of Honolulu, died last Monday at Kuakini Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. She was a Castle High School secondary social studies teacher for 33 years. She is survived by parents Richard Y. and Sueno; brothers, Michael Y. and Miles K., and sister Lynn S. Docktor. Services were private.

Annie C. Spenser, 94, of Wailuku, died Friday at Maui Memorial Hospital. She was born on Maui. She was a retired schoolteacher and widow of Aloyisius Spenser, who served as Maui County Chairman from 1938 to 1947. She is survived by sons Al Jr., Robert, Clarence and Charles; daughters Patricia, Catherine, Evelyn, Ann, Frances, Elizabeth and Teresa; brother Jerry Sentinella; 63 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Wallace Kuen Hop Wong, 85, of Honolulu, a retired vice president of Import Export Company, died Friday. He was born in Honolulu.
