Playing a strong financial hand

Michael A. Lilly says he is honored to be part of Diamond Head Theatre, Hawaii's oldest performing arts center, which has advanced theater arts since 1915.

"We have a great subscriber base and we're bringing in Broadway talent," Lilly said. "We're on real solid financial footing right now. The last two years have been blockbusters for us."

Lilly, an attorney for 23 years, is a partner at Ning, Lilly & Jones. He worked for 10 years at the state Department of Attorney General, heading it in 1984-85.

He is president of the Navy League, Pacific Region, and is a board director for the USS Missouri Association. He also is a captain in the Naval Reserve.

Lilly earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and history from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a law degree from the University of Pacific. He spent two years in Vietnam with the Navy.
