CaneFires, Stars split

Home runs by Adam Kennedy and Mike Zywica helped the Hilo Stars pound West Oahu, 9-3, for a split of their Hawaii Winter Baseball doubleheader last night at Hans L'Orange Park.

Jim Chamblee's two-run homer lifted the CaneFires to a 4-3 win in the first game. The nightcap was called after six innings due to a power failure.
