Eastman services on Sunday

Carol M. Eastman, 55, University of Hawaii senior vice president, will be remembered in services Sunday.

She died Wednesday in Queen’s Hospital after battling cancer for nearly a year.

A linguist by training, she was also an anthropology professor and taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in addition to her administrative duties. She served on the editorial board of several professional journals and published extensively in the area of linguistics and anthropology.

She is survived by husband John Jacobsen. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Alban’s Chapel, Iolani School. Donations suggested to Iolani School, 563 Kamoku St., Honolulu 96826.

Concepcion C. Agpaoa, 71, of Ewa Beach died Oct. 6 in Kapiolani Hospital at Pali Momi.
