Ernest “Red” Belaski, 67, of Ewa Beach died Sept. 3 in St. Francis-West Hospital. He was born in Ookala, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Molly H.; sons Albert, Jacob, Stanley, Edward, Calvin, Manuel “Dido” and David; daughters Ernestine Peronto, Adelina Belaski, Linda Calhoun, Josephine Wayton, Alberta Nicod, Eileen Burnett, Carol Overkamp and Geri Cougnet; brother Joseph; sisters Mary Gouveia and Katherine Ronning; 38 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Lawrence L.T. Ching, 77, of Hanalei, Kauai, a manager of Ching Young Village, Hanalei, died Sunday in Lihue. He was born in Hawaii. He is survived by wife Jennie; sons Steven and Michael; brother Douglas; sister Janet; hanai sons Geoff, Matt and Gordon, and two grandchildren. Kenneth K. Crowell, 69, of Waipio Gentry, a retired MTL bus driver, died Wednesday in Kuakini Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Bettejane E.; sons Thomas I. and Kevin K.; daughters Julie M. Thomas and Elizabeth Crowell; brother William; sisters Thelma Akiona, Alice Souza, Irene Barboza and Elsie Sinclaire, and 11 grandchildren. Private services.

Luisa M. DeJesus, 72, of Honolulu died Aug. 7 in Queen’s Hospital. She was born in the Philippines. She is survived by husband Teofilo A.; children Rolando M. DeJesus, Vilma J. Sabado, Elmar M. DeJesus, Bella J. Peralta, Imelda J. Apilado, Jimmy M. DeJesus and Marly M. DeJesus; brothers Agapito J. and Edelberto J. Marquez; sisters Marina J. and Liling J. Marquez, and 22 grandchildren. George Grace Jr., 60, of Waianae, died Friday at home. He was the inventor of the first portable flushing recycling toilet. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Polly A.K.; sons George III and Paul K.K.; hanai son Rolland Medeiros; daughters Georgette M. Medeiros, Sabrina M.H. Grace, Nadleen N. Nelson and Theodora M. Margaret L. Lau, 83, of Hilo, a retired manager of S.H. Kress Fountain, Hilo, died Friday in Hilo Hospital. She was born in Kukuihaele, Hawaii. Manabu Nonaka, 82, of Haleiwa, a retired supervisor with the Board of Water Supply, died Sunday at Straub Urgent Care Clinic Westridge. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Yayeko; son Howard; daughters Elaine Mahoney and Norene Williams; brothers Wilfred T. Nonaka, Matsuo Takabuki and Theodore T.
