Doris K. Afuso, 77, of Honolulu, a retired Liberty House sales clerk, died Saturday in Queen’s Hospital. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Robert T.; son Leslie T.; daughter Robyn S. Izumi; brothers Norman M. and Jerry T. Yahiku; sister Frances S. Miyasato, and two grandchildren. Yoshitsugu Ando, 80, of Kekaha, Kauai, a retired construction supervisor for Kekaha Sugar Co., died Aug. 12 in Kauai Veterans Hospital. He was born in Huleia, Kauai. He is survived by wife Tomiko. Private services.

Santos B. Barbasa, 87, of Lihue, a retired statistical clerk with Lihue Sugar Plantation, died Monday in Mahelona Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Elena; son Santos Jr.; sisters Lucing and Pacencia; brothers Felix, Patricio and Pedro, and two grandchildren. Mass: 9 a.m. tomorrow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Neonilo D. Castillo, 69, of Pahala, Hawaii, a retired tractor operator for Kau Agribusiness Co., died Aug. 20 in Hilo Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. Ae Joo Chun, 98, of Honolulu died Saturday in Honolulu. She was born in Seoul. Samuel T. Gates, of Honolulu died Tuesday in Straub Hospital. He was born in Knoxville, Tenn. He is survived by daughter Keith G. Mitsugi “Jerry” Isokane, 79, of Lihue, a state auto mechanic, died yesterday in Wilcox Hospital. He was born in Hanamaulu, Kauai. He is survived by wife Yoshie; sons Jeffrey K. and Jerry M.; daughter Stephanie Bagano; sisters Kiyoko Doi, Yukiko Manabe, Tomiyo Uyematsu, Yoshie Shibuya, Akiye Hashizume, Sueko Hamada and Yaeko Teraoka, and three grandchildren. Grace G. Kupo, 77, of Kahului died Tuesday at home. She was born in Lahaina. She is survived by husband Leonard A.; son Leonard A. Jr.; brothers Richard C. and Leigh K.; daughters Lani J. Tedodoro Miguel, 93, of Hanamaulu, Kauai, a field irrigator for Lihue Plantation, died Tuesday in Wilcox Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by sons Leonard, Orestes and Stanley; daughters Rae Taniguchi and Joyce Ortiz; sisters Lucinda and Felomena Santos, 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Alexandriette I.C. Moore, 39, of Aiea, a customer service agent for Long Distance USA Sprint, died last Thursday in St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Honolulu. Betty M. Young, 88, of Kihei, Maui a horse trainer for Gen. George Patton, died Tuesday in Kihei. She was owner of Maui Maid Gift Shop, Kahului, and a clerk for Maui Employment Service. She was also a sports writer, painter and clothes designer. She was born in Minneapolis. She is survived by daughters Nanielei E. Camarena and Diana Salomon; sister Lenore Dolan; brother Cyrus Krake; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
