Minute Maid Co. is looking for romance novels for their "Minute Maid Sensational Romance Writer Contest." In 125 words or less, writers must portray two fictional characters and romantically describe how their senses react when eating an orange. Grand prize is a 7-day/6-night roundtrip for two to Paris, France. Approximate value is $7,000. Winner will be notified by Sept. 15. Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum is accepting all types of poems for their "Awards of Poetic Excellence" contest. Poets may enter only one poem. Poems must be 20 lines or less. Pacific Islanders in Communication (PIC) is looking for a published, fictional work by an indigenous Pacific Islander writer for adaptation to the screen. Works must be able to develop into a full-length 60-90 minute program, be relevant to the cultures of the Pacific, and have been published as a book or short story in a magazine or literary journal or have been produced as a stage play.
