Harriette S. Duncan, 83, of Honolulu, a social worker, travel agent and real estate agent, died Thursday in Kaiser Hospital. She was a psychiatric social worker with Maternal and Child Welfare, director of Pupil Guidance at the Department of Pupil Instruction, and assistant director of Bureau of Sight Conservation. She led groups on trips around the world as part of the Hawaii Geographic Society. During World War II she joined the Red Cross as a social worker. David E. Thompson, 78, of Kailua, a contractor who worked on many subdivisions in Hawaii, died June 13 in Woods Bay, Mont. In 1954 he started Hercules Construction Co. and built projects in Enchanted Lake, Hawaii Kai, Makakilo and Kalama Valley. In 1978 he was appointed to the state Contractors Licensing Board. He was also president of National General Contractors Association. In World War II he served in the U.S. Air Force.
