Services for Carl Viti Saturday

Carl Martin Viti, 52, of Mililani, a photographer for the Honolulu Advertiser, will be remembered in a memorial service Saturday.

Viti was killed by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bicycle Sunday morning in Wahiawa.

He is survived by wife Ruby Mata-Viti, Star-Bulletin layout editor; son Taylor Kekoa M.; stepmother Olga; sister Lori; parents-in-law Tagumpay "Ruben" and Lynn B. Mata; aunt Delphine "Cets" Lippi; sisters-in-law Melanie and Gail Mata; nephew Gabriel Mata; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Nuuanu Memorial Park Mortuary, West Chapel. Call after 1 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers. Donations suggested to a favorite charity.


McCarthy ‘famous’ in

Robert P. "Bob" McCarthy, 38, of Wailuku, Maui's Democratic Party chairman and owner/baker of Maui's Famous Cookies, will be remembered in services tomorrow.

McCarthy died in the Molokai plane crash Friday.

He is survived by wife Cynthia Ann; mother Virginia M.; son Andrew; daughter Robyn; and brothers John and Patrick.

Service over his ashes: 5:30 p.m. tomorrow at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission. Casual attire. No flowers.
