She was a Lions International "Melvin Jones Fellow" for dedicated humanitarian services; recipient of the Tadaishi Fukunaga Dana Award for services and contributions to Buddhism; nominee for McDonald's of Hawaii 1990 Outstanding Older American; and volunteer of the year for the Maui Division of the March of Dimes.
