
The Sea Warriors routed Pacific Christian College, 8-0, yesterday as Myrissa Olanda, Chavela Garza and Caryn Noel each scored two goals. Olanda scored the first HPU (1-3-1) goal at 32 minutes, and 12 minutes later it was 4-0 as Kristi Robinson, Olanda and Garza followed with goals before halftime.
HPU was 0-6-1 in its first season a year ago.
Pullen placed in the top three in each of the five contests: first in the 500-meter surf swim and 1-mile paddleboard sprint; second in the run-swim-run and swim-kayak-paddleboard medley events, and third in the 2-mile kayak race.
Australian Heath Collie was second overall and Hawaii's Mike Trisler third.
California's Heidi Hannenian won the women's event, followed by Pat Daymon of Florida and Shannon Bell of Canada.
Mona Kim, of Honolulu, finished with a 167 and did not advance.
Oregon won the event with a 922 total. The Ducks' Kylie Wilson was the medalist with a 221.
Kaneshiro tied for 18th place with a 239.
Dubbed the "Rumble in the Jungle," the card features Hawaii's Dream Team against Japan.
