"SnapLoad" makes it easy to replace the
toilet paper roll because it has no springs.

Toilet paper holder a snap to load

You have run out of toilet paper but just when you go to put in a new roll, the coil of spring inside the holder flips out of your hand and skitters across the bathroom floor - or worse, it splashes into the bowl.

That never happens with "Snap-Load" because there is no spring in the holder. Two tabs on the side hold the roll in place.

Toto Inc. from Japan offers a simple solution where the toilet paper roll just snaps in with one upward motion. The serrated edge on the cover makes it easy to rip off the paper.

"The product has been used in Japan for many years. We've had it in Hawaii for five years, but I just got it into Longs stores a month ago," says Ryoko Mizushima, president of Promotion Specialists Inc., the sales representative for Toto in Hawaii.

Snap-Load is carried by most of the Longs stores.

Shirokiya has been selling it for about three months, she said.

Snap-Load is also carried by T. Oki Trading, Hawaii Pipe and Supply, Hawaii Pacific Plumbing Supply and Plumbing Specialties & Supply.

Suggested retail price for the plastic model is $12.50 but there is also a model in stainless steel for $55, says Mizushima.

Snap-Load comes in only one size, and the plastic model comes only in white. Snap-Load mounts on a wall with three screws.

Toto does business in the United States as Toto Kiki USA Inc.
