Harry Y.W. Chung, 87, of Kamiloloa, Molokai, died Sunday in Molokai General Hospital. He is survived by sons Cyril, Robert and Melvin; daughters Olivia Chung, Victoria Lapinid and Gloria Neil; brother Raymond; sister Grace Wong; and three grandchildren. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Oahu Cemetery and 2 p.m. July 21 at the Kalaiakamanu Hou Church Hall in Kalamaula, Molokai. Burial: Kapaakea Cemetery. Aloha attire. No flowers.

Gene H. Cox, of Roseburg, Ore., formerly of Hawaii, a retired Hawaii state resource conservationist, died June 23 at home. He is survived by wife Clarice R.; sister Beatrice Durkan; sons Willam E. and James L.; daughter Willa; and a grandson. Services held on the mainland. Lloyd D. Daniel, 48, of Middle Keei, Hawaii, a retired U.S. Army sergeant, died July 2 in Kona Community Hospital. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Daniel received several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star with V Device, Good Conduct Medal, Silver Service Star, five Bronze Service Stars, and the Purple Heart. Daniel is survived by wife Katherine A.; daughter Mailei M.; son Justin; father Joseph Rogers; brother Donald Rogers; hanai brothers Donald S. Austin and Richard Hunter; stepsisters Cindy Goldstein and Roxanne Rogers; and a granddaughter. Claire S. Higa, 76, of Hawaii, co-founder of Sallye Harmer of Hawaii, Monarch Sales, Monarch Wigs, and Monarch Jade and Gems, died Monday in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Stevenson and Bruce; stepdaughters Allene Carpio, Adelene Nakamura and Amelene Higashionna; brothers Richard and Kelly Tamaoka; and two grandchildren. Polin Jay, 57, of Honolulu died July 4 in Queen's Hospital. Yoshino O. Masutomi, 85, of Keopuka Heights, Hawaii, a retired coffee farmer, died Wednesday in the Kona Community Hospital. She is survived by sons Benjamin and Patrick; daughters Mary Katayama and Sue Orozco; brother Susumu Ozaki; sisters Asako Iura and Kikue Miyamura; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Hisao Miyasaki, 83, of Hilo, a retired agriculture and math teacher for Honokaa, Paauilo, Pepeekeo and Laupahoehoe high schools, died Tuesday in Kapiolani Hospital at Pali Momi. Miyasaki, recipient of the "Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year" for Hawaii county, is survived by wife Shigeyo; son Warren H.; daughters Joan Y. Masaki, June S. Asato, Thelma M. Ryusaki, Lorna L. Miyasaki, Karen I. Kato and Harriet T. Hidalgo; brothers Seichi "Mike" and Shuichi; sisters Florence H. Miyasaki, Fusayo Matsuyama and Jean A. Kondo; and 14 grandchildren.
