Get ready to hele for tickets to Mele
As Ed Sullivan would have said: It's a really big "shoe." There are seven - count 'em - big-name bands showcased in the summer-ending Big Mele concert Sept. 14 at Kualoa Ranch.
Mark the calendar for July 13, when tickets go on sale for the event, which features Cypress Hill, Presidents of the United States, No Doubt, and Dance Hall Crashers.
Rounding out the show are Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dishwalla, and CIV.
Tickets at $26 per person will be available at Hungry Ear Records, Tower Records, Tower Video, Pearl Harbor Bloch Arena, ITT Outlet at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and The Connection Outlets.

Hot Hawaiian tamale
Compadres Ward Centre marks Aloha Fridays with new Hawaiian-style snow crab/blue corn tamales, wrapped in banana leaves, and musical stylings by the Ka'ala Trio. The group plays 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays and features Keoki Van Blyenburg, Tyson Chun and Jon-David Tai.

'Imagination' at the Center
"Imagination" takes CenterStage in the premiere of a 20-week run of the musical extravaganza at Ala Moana Center.
Chris Luke, a 14-year-old Kamehameha Schools student, stars as Kawika and Kaneohe youth counselor Dion Donahue co-stars as the Imagineer in this production with a cast of 18 local performers.
The musical show for family viewers repeats at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturdays, through Nov. 16. Admission is free.
Flavors of Forgione
Two celebrated culinarians collaborate in the Grand Chefs on Tour Program - Larry Forgione of New York's An American Place restaurant, and Peter Merriman of Merriman's in Waimea, Big Island, Monday through July 14 at Maui's Kea Lani Hotel.
