OIA tennis all-star teams announced

Players from Pearl City, Mililani, Kalani and Kahuku topped the voting by league coaches for the Oahu Interscholastic Association all-star tennis teams.

Gregg Takata, a junior who led Pearl City to the division and league championships, earned the boys' Western Division Player of the Year honors.

Takata was the West's singles champion and an OIA championship finalist.

Mililani junior Jennifer Oshita, who also propelled her team to the division and league titles, was the girls' West Player of the Year. Oshita was unbeaten (9-0) before losing to Leilehua's Stacy Hakikawa in the division final.

Kahuku junior Terah Porter, who captured her third straight division title, was named Eastern Division girls' player of the year.

Kalani senior Michael Yoo, another division champion, took player of the year honors for the boys in the East.
