Six Warriors on first team
in ILH baseball

Kamehameha dominated the Interscholastic League of Honolulu all-star baseball team.

The Warriors, who also dominated the league throughout the season, were given six berths on the first team in voting by the ILH coaches.

Lanakila Niles, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound junior right-hander who compiled a 6-2 record for the league champion Warriors, was chosen player of the year.

Kamehameha's Vern Ramie was named coach of the year.

Pitchers Perio and Saito get
OIA player of year honors

Castle and Aiea topped the coaches' balloting for the Oahu Interscholastic Association baseball all-star teams.

Left-handed pitcher Ian Perio went 6-0 in leading Castle to the the OIA championship and was named player of the year in the Eastern Division.

Western Division honors went to Scott Saito, a 5-foot-11, 210-pound right-hander, who was 5-0 and pitched Aiea to the division title.
