The field for the inaugural Kapalua LPGA Classic is a good one as the top two players, Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam, tee it up together for the last time in a full-field event in the United States.

This 72-hole tournament at the Bay Course at Kapalua attracted eight of the top 10 players in the world. The notable exception is No. 3 Paula Creamer, who won in Hawaii earlier this year at the Fields Open, but it hardly matters.

All eyes will be on No. 1 Ochoa and No. 2 Sorenstam in the next-to-last event to be held stateside in 2008. From Maui, the LPGA Tour heads to Asia for three events before returning to Mexico for Ochoa's tournament in November.

Sorenstam played in the first full-field event of 2008 and won it at the SBS Open at Turtle Bay. Ochoa skipped the first two Hawaii tournaments, so having her on Maui is a treat for local fans.

The tournament begins on Thursday and will be shown locally on the Golf Channel.
