NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said today that moving the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl at the host city has “;a lot of merit,”; but negotiations continue to keep the all-star game in Hawaii on a “;rotational basis.”;

Goodell broke little new ground in a 15-minute interview session with reporters at Kapolei High School.

Many players interviewed here this year and last say they prefer the game remains in Hawaii, but Goodell said today that moving it has received support from players.

Next year's game is set for Miami, a week before the Super Bowl there.

Goodell said he expects that losing players from conference championship games will not find reasons to dodge the Pro Bowl the following week.

“;They (play after losing) the Super Bowl,”; he said.

Players on the teams in next year's Super Bowl will not be eligible for the Pro Bowl the previous week.

Sunday's game will be the 30th in a row at Aloha Stadium.
