Police were searching for a man wanted in the fatal stabbing of another man in Kalihi last night.

Witnesses told police they saw the 36-year-old victim fighting with another man near 831 Waiakamilo Road about 10:30 p.m. Police said the victim suffered at least one stab wound.

City Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The victim has been identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office as Otomar Muritok of Waipahu. An autopsy to determine the cause of death was pending.

The suspect, identified by police as a 27-year-old man, fled the scene, police said. He is wanted on suspicion of second-degree murder.
