Campbell's Rudy Cabalar birdied the the first playoff hole to defeat Kamehameha's Nainoa Calip to take boys medalist honors in the David S. Ishii Foundation/HHSAA State Golf Championships.

Cabalar shot a 3-under 69 yesterday at the Turtle Bay Palmer Course to tie first-round leader Calip at 3-under 141.

Punahou captured the team title.
