Honolulu-based Servco Pacific Inc. has increased its Australia holdings by acquiring majority ownership of Sunshine Toyota in coastal Caloundra, 60 miles north of Brisbane in Queensland.

Financial terms were not disclosed. However, the deal was similar to Servco's previous dealership acquisitions in that Sunshine Toyota's dealer principal and managing director, Ian McDowell, retained a minority stake and joined the management team that oversees Servco's operations on the continent.

Sunshine Toyota has received numerous awards from Toyota Motor Corp. Australia for outstanding performance, including three President's Awards for Excellence, given to top-performing dealerships in the country.

The company is looking to expand further with “;other dealerships in Australia,”; not necessarily just in Queensland, said Mark Fukunaga, chairman and chief executive officer.
