A state judge doubled the bail yesterday for a 22-year-old man accused of abducting a 5-year-old girl at Waipahu District Park during the weekend.

Circuit Judge Steven Alm set bail for Anthony Davis at $100,000 after an Oahu grand jury returned an indictment yesterday charging him with kidnapping.

Police said Davis, who lives near the park, grabbed the girl Sunday and attempted to walk away with her.

Authorities said the girl's brothers, ages 10 and 12, and her 15-year-old sister helped get the girl away from Davis.

Bystanders, including the park's lifeguard, held Davis until police arrived.

Police arrested Davis for harassment, a petty misdemeanor, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, a misdemeanor. They later charged him with kidnapping, a Class A felony that carries a mandatory 20-year prison term.
