Lee earns PacWest weekly baseball honor

Hawaii-Hilo left-hander Kekoa Lee was named the PacWest baseball pitcher of the week yesterday.

The junior posted a 1.29 ERA and 11 strikeouts in a 5-1 win over Dixie State on April 13.

3 Hawaii surfers advance Down Under

Hawaii surfers Carissa Moore, Melanie Bartels and Coco Ho advanced to the third round of the Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic today in New South Wales, Australia.

Moore posted the best opening-round score of 17.50.

UH's Pinterova named WAC player of the week

Hawaii sophomore Barbara Pinterova was named the Western Athletic Conference women's tennis player of the week yesterday.

She went unbeaten in UH's wins over New Mexico State and San Jose State last week.

Wahine in second at conference golf

The Hawaii women's golf team trails San Jose State by two strokes entering the final round of the Western Athletic Conference championships today at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.

Sophomore Erika Lundberg is at 7-over 149 to lead UH.

» The Brigham Young-Hawaii men's golf team took third at the PacWest championships yesterday after firing a 305 at the Makaha West golf course.

The Seasiders' three-day score of 903 trailed Grand Canyon (876) and Dixie State (889).

BYUH's Inoka Kahawaii shot a 2-over 218 to finish second individually.

» Hawaii-Hilo freshman Dayna Bersamin won the Sonoma State Women's Spring Invitational yesterday in Santa Rosa, Calif., by three strokes.

Bersamin, of Wailuku, shot a 2-over 74 after a 76 in the first round. UHH finished fourth as a team.
