Firm maintains regional design honor
Archipelago Hawaii of Kailua will remain a regional finalist in the biannual Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen design contest held earlier this year.
The firm, which has offices in Kailua and Lahaina, Maui, was one of 50 regional finalists that won a $500 cash prize and trip to Palm Beach, Fla., last weekend to contend for the title of national winner, designers' choice and international winner.
The design, by Archipelago partner Rick Cowan, is of an open-style kitchen that flows into the living room with multiple seating areas, a separate oven and cooktop, a built-in microwave and an under-counter wine unit. While the firm did not win the national award, it is the second time it has been a regional finalist.
Sub-Zero and Wolf will announce the 2010-2011 Kitchen Design Contest this summer. More information is available at www.subzero.com/contest.
