Help food bank, get golf discount

MAKENA, MAUI » Makena Beach & Golf Resort is offering special rates for kamaaina golfers who donate canned goods to the Maui Food Bank.

During the month of April, golfers who bring two nonperishable food items to the Makena Golf Course Golf Shop and show a Hawaii ID will receive a $49 rate per person to play the 18-hole Makena Golf Course.

Replays, tee times after 2 p.m. and golfers age 17 and younger play for $39.

The food will be donated to the Maui Food Bank at the end of the month. The most-needed food items include canned meat and tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals and soups with protein, cereal, rice and pasta.

Earth Day special at Aqua Bamboo

Aqua Bamboo & Spa in Waikiki is offering an “;Earth Day Special”; this month in recognition of Earth Day on April 22 and in celebration of the Hawaii Green Business Award recently received by the hotel.
