King said Warner-Gonzales will not be able to appear in Honolulu District Court for a preliminary hearing Monday.

When police arrived just before 8 a.m., Warner-Gonzales was seated in the living room and told an officer “;I stabbed my mom ... Forgive me. I stabbed her,”; according to a police affidavit.

Stribling's son, Sam Warner, told police that he heard a scream and found Warner-Gonzales standing over Stribling, who had a 9-inch blade lodged in her left shoulder. Stribling's son removed the knife and placed it in the kitchen sink.

Stribling was taken to the Queen's Medical Center, where she died.

Warner-Gonzales was being held on $500,000 bail at Oahu Community Correctional Center.
