The parents of a 25-year-old man killed in a one-car crash on Likelike Highway last year are suing the bar where they claim the driver got drunk before the crash.

Honolulu police said James Krzywonski, 30, was driving faster than 100 mph when he lost control of his car and struck a concrete embankment. The airborne auto crashed into a concrete wall just outside the Honolulu entrance to the Wilson Tunnel on Feb. 26, 2009.

The crash killed Krzywonski, his front seat passenger, Keone Cardenas, 25, and back seat passenger, Amelia Albertsen, 22.

The Honolulu medical examiner said Krzywonski died from external and internal injures to his head and body. The autopsy also lists acute alcohol intoxication as another significant condition.

Cardenas' parents, John and Lyn Jones-Cardenas, filed a lawsuit in Circuit Court yesterday, claiming Krzywonski got drunk at the Shack Waikiki.
