Auction benefits abused children

A furniture auction begins today and continues next weekend to benefit the Children's Alliance of Hawaii and its program supporting sexually abused children.

The auction will feature unique estate pieces. There are no reserve prices or minimum bids on any item, and everything must be sold.

The auction site is at 1215 Hunakai St., behind Kahala Mall in the old American Savings Bank. Items will be available for preview and sealed bids will be accepted at the following times:

Today and tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; next Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; March 28, 4 to 6 p.m.

The bidding closes at 5 p.m. March 28, and winners will be announced from 5 to 6 p.m. at a wine-and-cheese reception.
