Fundraiser aids quake victims

A fundraiser to benefit the victims of the Haitian earthquake will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow at 960 Ahua St. The fundraiser is sponsored by Beth Israel Jewish Ministries International of Honolulu.

The event will feature music and food, including both local and Haitian dishes.

 

Volunteers can clear beaches

Beach Environmental Awareness Campaign Hawaii—B.E.A.C.H.—needs volunteers to help clean up marine debris at Kokololio Beach from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. next Saturday. Volunteers must register by Monday in order to participate.

Volunteers can register by calling 393-2168.

B.E.A.C.H. focuses on cleanups along the Windward Coast where marine debris from the North Pacific Sub-Tropical Gyre (Great Pacific Garbage Patch) accumulates.
