Healthy dogs need a lot of exercise

QUESTION: How much exercise does my dog need?

ANSWER: Dogs need as much exercise as you can possibly offer. Although fenced yards provide a safe, handy place in which your dog can play and relax, every dog craves at least one walk a day as most won't run around a fenced yard enough to get the exercise they need. If you walk a mile or more a day with your dog, you'll both benefit by building strength and endurance, burning calories, breathing fresh air, and discovering what's new in the neighborhood.
