Chow to speak at MPI benefit

UCLA offensive coordinator Norm Chow will be the guest speaker at Mid-Pacific Institute's M Club Athletic Hall of Fame Gala.

MPI will honor Dorothy Hanamaika'i Crowell (class of 1955) and Lia Young Hunt (1990) at the event set for Feb. 20 at the Pacific Beach Hotel.

San Diego hands UH tennis loss

The Hawaii women's tennis team lost its third match against a ranked opponent yesterday, falling to No. 45 San Diego 5-2 at the USD West Tennis courts.

UH got singles wins from Katarina Poljakova and Natasha Zorec in dropping to 1-4.

 

Ingram to coach at HSQ clinic

Former Hawaii long snapper Jake Ingram, who just completed his rookie season with the New England Patriots, will be a guest instructor at Saturday's Hawaii Speed and Quickness clinic.

Clinics are set for 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Klum Gym. Registration starts at 8.

Loeffler wins PacWest honor

Hawaii-Hilo junior Ronnie Loeffler was named the Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Northwest Nazarene. The right-hander struck out four over 6 2/3 innings in a 2-1 win on Feb. 4.

 

HPU women rally past Dominican

Paris Gravely scored 16 points and Jazzmin Awa-Williams added 16 to lead the Hawaii Pacific women's basketball team to a 74-64 win over Dominican yesterday at Maryknoll gym.
