Instead of providing client holiday parties and gifts last year, the Bank of Hawaii awarded a total of $50,000 to help needy families. The Salvation Army (Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division) received $25,000; the Hawaii Foodbank, $10,000; and the Maui and Kauai Food Banks, and The Food Basket on the Big Island, $5,000 each.

Leonard Hoshijo and other alumni from Kalani High School's Class of 1969 donated $6,000 to their alma mater. Funds were raised at their recent 40th reunion through donations, raffle drawings and silent auction sales.

Devin Chu and Jonathan Davis are Hawaii's delegates to the 48th Annual United States Senate Youth Program in Washington, D.C., in March.

Chu is Student Association second vice president at Hilo High School. Davis is Student Government president at Island Pacific Academy.

Alternates are Marissa Mann of the University Laboratory School and Kara Nelson of St. Andrew's Priory.
