A 51-year-old registered sex offender was charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Police charged Gordon Alfred Caminos of Wahiawa with two counts of third-degree sexual assault. He made his initial appearance in District Court yesterday and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Caminos' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1.

According to a police affidavit, the victim told her mother that Caminos touched her breast and genital area when she was sleeping over at his house on Saturday. She slept over because her calabash cousin, Caminos' granddaughter, was there.

The victim told police she was in her cousin's bedroom when Caminos walked in and joined her in bed.

;  She said he rubbed her breast and put his hand on her genital area while her clothes were on.

The victim said she went into the living room to get away from him, but hours later, Caminos returned and again touched her genital area.

The victim identified Caminos from a photographic lineup and police arrested him at home Monday.

In September 1988, a judge found Caminos guilty of second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse. The rape occurred in December 1986 and involved a 16-year-old girl.

Caminos was sentenced to five years' probation. It was revoked after he violated terms of his probation and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Caminos served a little more than 6 1/2 years before he was released on parole on Aug. 5, 2003, said Max Otani, administrator of the Hawaii Paroling Authority. He completed his full term on Sept. 3, 2006.
