Farrington tops Castle with 3s

Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo and her Farrington teammates showed off their touch from behind the arc early and often against Castle as the No. 5 Governors made nine 3-pointers en route to a 65-50 victory over the Knights last night in OIA Red East play.
Tatupu-Leopldo helped get things going by scoring 12 of her 17 points in the first half, a trend that her fellow teammates followed along with as they hit six 3-pointers before the break on their way to a 39-24 halftime lead.
Castle was able to close the gap to 11 with 6 minutes to play but was unable to get any closer as Farrington quickly extended its lead back to 15.
Angeline Argel came up big for the Governors as well with 13 points, while Sofia Folaumahina contributed 12 points.
Leish Liilii and Joshell Lilio chipped in 11 points each for the Knights in defeat.

The Menehunes came up big in the first half and stole their sixth conference win from the Tigers.
Moanalua led 31-13 at the half and a 17-point fourth quarter by McKinley wasn't enough to make a comeback. Jasmine Funtanilla led Moanalua with 11 points, while Jackie Tihano scored a game-high 13 for the Menehunes.

The Surfriders survived a last-second scare as they watched a last second 3-point attempt by the Falcons rattle out to secure their victory. Teuila Afele led the charge for Kailua with 14 points, but Christine Sasano led all scorers with 18 points in defeat.
