Brennan leads decade team

Led by quarterback Colt Brennan, Hawaii placed nine players on the Western Athletic Conference's All-Decade football team.

The team was selected through an online poll at wacsports.com with more than 1,500 fans participating.

Joining Brennan, a two-time WAC Offensive Player of the Year, on the All-Decade offense were receivers Ashley Lelie and Davone Bess and offensive linemen John Estes and Samson Satele.

Voted to the defense were lineman Travis LaBoy and linebackers Solomon Elimimian and Pisa Tinoisamoa. Mat McBriar was named the team's punter.

 

UH water polo fourth in poll

The Hawaii water polo team placed fourth in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's preseason top-20 poll.

Stanford topped the coaches' poll, followed by USC, UCLA and Hawaii. The Rainbow Wahine return five starters off last year's 19-10 team which finished fourth at the NCAA championship.

UH opens the season Jan. 29 in the California Tournament.

 

UH softball finalizes staff

The Hawaii softball team has finalized its coaching staff with Dee Wisneski promoted from assistant to associate head coach.

Head coach Bob Coolen also added Kaulana (Gould) Williams to the staff as an assistant coach and Dickie Titcomb as volunteer coach.
