Get your discount grab bag at retailers during Fukubukuro

New Year's in Hawaii, like its Japanese birthplace, is Fukubukuro time. Tomorrow, participating merchants at Ala Moana Center and Royal Hawaiian Center will once again be offering “;happy grab bags.”;

The bags will be sold at 50 percent off the retail value of their secret contents. Merchants participating from 9:30 a.m. at Ala Moana are Aloha Hobby Shop (kiosk), Animation Magic, Anteprima Wirebag, Artlines, Bag n Baggage, Bally, Betsey Johnson, Cathedral Gift Shop, Dewcarat, Diesel, Disney Store, Emporio Armani, Fendi, Folli Follie, Godiva, Gucci, Lacoste, Le Grand Marqet, LeSportsac, Local Motion, Locals Only, L'Occitane, Loco Boutique, Lupicia, Martin & MacArthur, Maui Divers, Max & Co., Metropark, Michael Kors, Neiman Marcus, Pillow Pets, Salvatore Ferragamo, Shanghai Tang, Silver Rhino, Spiral Girl, Swatch, the Pacific Place Tea Garden, Thinker Tots, Thinker Toys, Valerie Joseph, Vera Bradley and W Salon.

At Royal Hawaiian Center, participating merchants from 10 a.m. are Ai Amour Luxury Lingerie, Allure Swimwear, Anteprima, Fendi, Furla, Harley Davidson, Island Soap and Candle Works, J3 Hawaii, Jams World, Juicy Couture, Koi Boutique, Koa Nani, LeSportsac, L'Occitane, Lush, Princesse Tam-Tam, Royal Hawaiian Golf Shop, SoHo and Ferragamo.

In addition, some restaurants at Royal Hawaiian Center will be offering a limited number of gift certificates ranging from $25 to $100 that can be purchased at up to half their value.

The participating restaurants are Doraku Sushi, Okonomiyaki Chibo, Beijing, P.F. Chang's Waikiki, Senor Frog's and Wolfgang's Steakhouse.
